Pencil cases by Tokyo Bag are sewn from a durable, water-resistant, tear-proof paper made from natural cellulose fibre and recycled leather scraps. Pencil cases have a leathery texture and are machine washable. They also make great travel pouches and soft glasses cases.
Tokyo Bag
Tokyo Bag was founded by Ayako Goto in Montreal, QC. Ayako was born into a family of Kimono (Japanese traditional dress) seamstresses and grew up surrounded by fabric scraps. From a young age, she played with fabric and thread. Later, after studying graphic design, and spending many years working in front of a screen, she decided to quit the life she had in Tokyo and moved to Montreal, Canada. This is where she started making her unique bag designs, inspired by the brown paper bag.
