What's the shop called?
It's called Visitors as opposed to "visitor's", "shop visitors", or "visitors shop and gallery."

What does "Visitors" mean?
A visitor often stays some time, for social pleasure, for business, sightseeing, and more." The name refers to the role of visitors on the land, to the exchange between places, and to welcoming guests within our space.


What types of clothing and accessories are available?

Visitors handpicks apparel collections that move between designer, vintage and everyday basics. We carry one-of-a-kind items items for all genders and bodies ranging from XXS to extended sizes.

For limited edition clothing collections, we do our best to carry a selection of sizes for each design as available. If you have a special request for sizing, please let us know and we will be happy to to arrange a custom order with a designer. A deposit may be required on custom orders.

Where are your collections sourced? 
They are sourced from our consignment clients, represented artists, and wholesale partners. For new products, we work with artists and designers using sustainable methods of making. Visitors' line of products are made in collaboration with artists, businesses, craftspeople and designers within our community.

What is “All Genders”?

“All Genders” is a term with a similar meaning to "Unisex", suggesting that gender is a spectrum and that garments can be worn by any gender, based on a person's individual preferences. It’s important for customers to feel welcome to express themselves through fashion.

I'm unsure about the sizing of an item. What should I do?
Because Visitors handpicks garments from across the eras, we recommend reviewing the measurements provided on each item listing prior to placing your order. Please see the page on Sizing where you will find guidelines for taking your measurements as well as international sizing standards.

Can I use shop credit online?
Unfortunately at this time we cannot apply shop credit to online orders, but we can process your order for you over the phone. We charge HST + GST on all items sold based on your location within Canada. If you live outside of Canada, additional fees may be charged on your order.

Do you offer storefront pick up or local delivery on orders placed online or over the phone?

What can I expect when I arrive?
A screening tool will be posted on the door so that customers can self-assess before entering the shop. Customers who may be sick, have been exposed to someone sick, or have just returned to Canada should not enter.

Hand sanitizer and nitrile gloves are readily available for you when you arrive. We ask that you continue to practice social distancing and wear a mask inside the shop.

Do I have to wear a mask?

Masks are not required but encouraged.

Is there a customer limit?

Yes, the shop's capacity limit is 4 customers at one time.

Have store hours been reduced?

Yes, we have shortened store hours to allow for routine deep cleaning. Our new regular shop hours are 12:00 pm - 5:00 pm, Monday through Saturday, and closed on Sundays. We are happy to accommodate visits outside of regular hours. Our appointment hours are 10:30 am - 12:00 pm, Monday through Saturday. Customers can email, direct message, or call us to set up an appointment in advance. Appointment hours are available to vulnerable customers such as seniors or persons who are immunocompromised, for private shopping alone or with their bubble, for up to 45 minutes.

Will consignment resume? 

Yes, consignment reopens on June 8th by appointment only. Please read the updates to our consignment guidelines. Before your appointment, please be sure all your items have been freshly laundered.

Can I try on clothing and shoes?

Yes, clothing and shoes can be tried on safely. The fitting room will be routinely sanitized and protective sockettes are available in-store. Please remember, always launder your clothing purchases when you get home.

Will the shop be routinely sanitized?

Yes. High-traffic areas and hard surfaces that are frequently touched (keys, doors, handles, handrails, etc.) will be cleaned throughout the day, multiple times a day. The shop will undergo a deep clean every day prior to opening.

Will you accept cash?

During this period, we will not be accepting cash transactions. Only credit and debit card transactions will be accepted via an electronic device. We encourage customers to use the tap option.

Can I bring my own bags?

No, sadly. We’re suspending the use of reusable bags until further notice. We ask customers to bag their purchases with the bags provided at the checkout.
