Taking Your Measurements
1. NECK SIZE
Place the measuring tape around the base of your neck, where it meets your shoulders, and measure the circumference. For a looser fitting collar, place a finger between your neck and the measuring tape.
Ask someone to help with taking this measurement or try taking it from top with your preferred sleeve length. First, bend your elbow, and place your hand on your hip. Starting from the back of your shoulder, from the middle point of the back of your neck, measure straight over the shoulder, to the elbow, and then down to your wrist bone.
3. CHEST WIDTH / BUST SIZE
Place the measuring tape beneath your armpits and measure around the widest part of your chest / the fullest part of your bust. While measuring, keep the tape level, relax without holding your breath, and try not to pull too tightly. When fitting for a bra or bustier, also take a measurement just under your bust.
Place the measuring tape around your natural waistline, close to your bellybutton (about an inch above your navel). Relax, exhale, and take your measurement. Make sure not to pull the tape too tightly—it can help to place one finger between the measuring tape and your body to ensure a more comfortable fit.
Place the measuring tape around your hips. The hip should be measured at its fullest part (about 8 inches below your waist).
Standing with your legs straight, in front of a mirror, place the measuring tape at your crotch. Keep the tape straight and measure from your crotch down to your ankle bone. Ask someone to help with taking this measurement or try taking it from a pair of pants with your preferred leg length.
