Laundry Detergent Bottle Vase
'Laundry Detergent' Bottle Vase from Middle Kingdom. The 'Bottle' series redefines trash from the canal of Rotterdam, Holland, as something worth keeping. Quotidian objects intended for the trash heap transformed into art, opening the philosophical debate: what meaning can we ascribe to objects that were meant to have none?
Designed by Foekje Fleur van Duin in collaboration with Middle Kingdom. Colour clay porcelain, matte finish, glazed interior.
H x W x D: 9.5 in x 5 in x 2.25 in (24.2 cm x 12.7 cm 5.7 cm)
Middle Kingdom wares are inspired by a long and distinguished history of design and craftsmanship in Chinese porcelain, but we contribute a fresh and invigorating style to the genre. Bo Jia and Alison Alten established the Middle Kingdom kiln in 1998 to broaden porcelain traditions for a modern audience. New works of imperial caliber are now available for everyone.
